Machado Excels in 8-6 Chesapeake Bay Win
The Chesapeake Bay Oysters topped the Mansfield Mohicans, 8-6, with youngster Ernesto Machado playing a key role. Machado went 4-4 with 2 home runs and 2 singles. He scored 3 runs and drove in 5 for the Oysters in the win. Raúl Bruno, 3-2, earned the win in relief. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 3.1 innings. Jorge Gallegos earned the save for Chesapeake Bay, his 14th of the year.

Machado had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the seventh. On a first pitch fastball from Tony Correa, he banged a 2-run home run to left, giving the Oysters a 8-6 lead. It was the 20th home run of the year for Machado.

"We'll hit the hot tub in good spirits tonight," said Machado.

With this game in the books, Chesapeake Bay is 49-30, Mansfield 51-28.
