Evansville Beats Raleigh, 8-2
|
Earl Bagnell was a vital contributor to the 8-2 Evansville victory over Raleigh. The Tri-Staters designated hitter went 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. Tsuneo Yoshida got the win, improving to 3-0. He pitched 6 innings, giving up 5 hits and 2 runs, while striking out 5 and walking 1. With the victory, the Tri-Staters record now stands at 44-35.
The Tri-Staters got an important contribution from left fielder Jeremy Craig, who in the top of the third punched a full count fastball into left for a run-scoring double. It was his 21st double of the season and put the Tri-Staters ahead, 3-1.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Bagnell told the Evansville Times.
