Tourists Topple El Dorados, 6-2
|
The Raleigh El Dorados got a sterling performance from pitcher Finlay MacEwan, but the Santo Domingo Tourists still prevailed, 6-2. MacEwan threw 5.0 innings of shutout ball. Tom Ray earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 3.2 innings. His record is now 1-2. Melvin Romero sewed up the save, his 5th.
Arturo Rodríguez, the 27-year old left fielder , had a direct impact on the outcome. Rodríguez contributed a 2-run single in the top of the seventh inning to put Santo Domingo up, 4-2.
"Nice win for us," said Rodríguez. "Now we'll go after the next one."
