Newport News Gets Another L, 9-5
|
Newport News third baseman Dae-hyung Chang had a good game in a losing cause. His team fell, 9-5, to Clifton at Anchormen Stadium. Chang hit 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. Poto LoschiLosurdo got the win, improving to 1-0. He pitched 6.1 innings, giving up 10 hits and 4 runs, while striking out 5 and walking 0. The losses continue to pile up for Newport News, which has now fallen 11 times in a row.
Darren Cruz, the 29-year old catcher , had a direct impact on the outcome. Cruz contributed a 2-run single in the top of the sixth inning to put Clifton up, 4-2.
"This losing is getting old," said Newport News manager Shigeaki Hara.
