Hitmen Pick Up 2-1 Win
New Jersey turned a good effort from starter Yasuoka Seki into a win over the San Antonio Calzones of Laredo at Elysian Fields. The final score was 2-1. Seki picked up the win for New Jersey, going 7 innings. He gave up 1 run on 4 hits. He now sports a record of 4-0. Picking up the save was Toshiki Miyata, his 1st.

New Jersey used the timely hitting of Bill Johnson to capture the win. The first baseman socked a 2-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Hitmen ahead, 2-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a big one.

"Yasuoka is tough when he's hitting his spots," said New Jersey manager Ieyoshi Ishikawa.

The Calzones of Laredo fall to 7-11 and continue their uneven start to the 2039 season.
