Evans Plays Big Role in Clifton Win
The Clifton Dons defeated the Evansville Tri-Staters, 4-0, in Appalachian Mountain League action at Clifton Stadium. Clifton pitcher Bill Evans had a standout performance. Clifton is now 33-26, Evansville 32-27.

Evans earned the win, going 8 strong innings for Clifton. The left-hander allowed just 3 hits, while striking out 10. Evansville hitters had little success against him.

"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said Clifton manager Ken Hooper. "It's usually not just one thing."
