Ambers Topple Anchormen with Late Rally

Lucas Fullerton left his imprint on the 6-4 Akron win against the Newport News Anchormen. Fullerton was 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. Akron reliever Stephen Garza was the winner. His record is now 2-2. The losing pitcher was John Bradley. Chris Perado recorded the save for Akron, his 9th of the season.
Akron used the timely hitting of José Reyes to seize the win. The third baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Ambers on top, 5-4. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"Winning is hard sometimes," said Ambers manager Tommy Taylor. "This one was nice to get."
The Ambers go to 12-22 with the win.
