Underground Edge Amsterdam in Pitching Duel

The London Underground and Amsterdam Lions put on a pitchers' duel.
In a low-scoring clash between London and Amsterdam, pitcher Raúl Cruz was a difference-maker. The left-hander earned accolades in the 1-0 win. Cruz got the win, improving to 1-0. He allowed 3 hits and walked 1 over 7 innings. Cruz allowed no runs. Richard Higgins collected save number 1.
Eichiro Nakashima, who finished 2nd in the IL in home runs with 43 last year, aided the London cause with a run-scoring ground out in the bottom of the first. For the game, the right fielder drove in one run.
"For the most part, I stayed out of the middle of the plate," Cruz said.
The Underground, now 2-0, have hit the ground running this season.
