Golden Sands Come Back Late to Top Braggarts, 1-0
The Fayetteville Braggarts got a sterling performance from pitcher Paul Hay, but the Aberdeen Golden Sands still prevailed, 1-0. Hay threw 6.2 innings of shutout ball. Víctor Oliver snagged the win in relief. In 2.2 innings, the right-hander allowed no runs on no hits. He's now 1-0 on the season. After losing, Fayetteville is 6-7.

Randy Laing, the 35-year old left fielder , had a direct impact on the outcome. Laing contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the eighth inning to put Aberdeen up, 1-0.

"The object of the game is to score more runs than they do," said Laing. "Mission accomplished."
