Both teams had their chances, but the Aberdeen Golden Sands eventually prevailed.

The Aberdeen Golden Sands topped the Clifton Dons, 7-6, in Appalachian Mountain League action at Clifton Stadium. The game was highlighted by the performance of Aberdeen right fielder Randall Perry. Wayne Kearney earned the win for Aberdeen. He lasted 5.1 innings, allowing 5 runs on 10 hits, while striking out 4. With the win, he raised his record to 1-1.

Perry contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Aberdeen in the top of the fifth. With his team trailing 4-3, Perry took a cutter from Mark Cooke and stroked the home run to right. His 2nd home run of the season allowed the Golden Sands to leap in front, 6-4.

"Feels good to get the job done," Perry said after the game.

With the win, Aberdeen goes to 4-3.
