Samurakami Helps Flying Fish Beat Batey, 4-1
|
The Charlotte Amalie Batey and Bridgetown Flying Fish were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd.
The Bridgetown Flying Fish dumped the Charlotte Amalie Batey, 4-1, in large part due to third baseman Takafumi Samurakami. On the day, Samurakami went 2 for 4 with 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice for the Flying Fish. Santiago García, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 20th save.
Bridgetown took a 4-0 lead on Samurakami's 35th home run of the season. The 3-run home run, which he hit off Sadanobu Kichikawa in the bottom of the seventh, propelled Bridgetown to the win.
"I just tried to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Samurakami.
The win puts the Flying Fish at 48-21, while the Batey drop to 27-42.
