The Mokule'ia Oceanic trumped the Waimalu Nene, 4-3, at Waimalu Grounds. Mokule'ia shortstop Roger Miller was terrific. He went 3 for 4 with 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. Mokule'ia reliever Ken Berrios was the winner. His record is now 6-1. Jorge Rojas took the loss. Mokule'ia, now 49-33, holds down third place in the Hawaiian League Aloha.

The most crucial at-bat for Mokule'ia came in the top of the ninth inning. That's when Miller stroked a 1-1 fastball to left for a 2-run home run, putting Mokule'ia up, 4-3.

"We made a couple of mistakes," said Waimalu skipper Carlos Rivera, "and it cost us."
