Vulcans Deal Fireflies 3-2 Loss
The Mauna Loa Vulcans picked up a win at Recoil Stadium, taking down the Kobayashi Fireflies, 3-2. Starting pitcher Matsuo Yamashita was a big reason why. Mauna Loa reliever Emílio López was the winner. His record is now 4-3. Jaime Gaona took the loss. Mauna Loa is now 40-39, Kobayashi 44-35.

The game came to an abrupt end with two out in the bottom of the 12th. On a pitch from Jaime Gaona, Takesi Takayama drew a walk, driving in 1 run. It gave Mauna Loa the 3-2 win.

"We just didn't score enough runs to win," said Kobayashi manager Patrick Wells.
