The Manchester Maulers powered past the London Underground, 11-4, at Whiten Field. Jesús Meléndez was 2-4 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 4, to lead the charge. The win belongs to Ken Cole in relief. His record improves to 9-2. Carlos Gallegos took the loss for London. The Maulers now own a record of 46-54.

The game was at a stalemate until left fielder Raúl Cuellar came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing London pitcher Carlos Gallegos, he hit a 1-0 curveball for a 2-run single. It was a game-changer, putting Manchester on top, 6-4.

"They played a better game than we did," said London skipper Jorge Ornelas.
