Okinawa Gets Riveting Walk-Off Win
|
The Okinawa Shisa electrified the home crowd with a walk-off win.
The Okinawa Shisa defeated the Palm Springs Codgers, 4-3, in Sovereign League action at Shisa Stadium II. David Trujillo pulled his weight. The 10-year veteran slugged 2 home runs. The win belongs to Mal Schmidt in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Timothy O'Slattery took the loss for Palm Springs.
The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the tenth. With one out, Trujillo hit a sinker from Timothy O'Slattery for a solo home run. The Shisa, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.
"On the outside I was calm," said Shisa manager Yoriyoshi Tanaka. "But inside I was a nervous wreck."
The Shisa now have a record of 51-47 with the win over Palm Springs.
