Clutch Hitting Delivers Win for Modernists
The Asmara Modernists topped the Khartoum Raiders, 6-3, in Intercontinental Baseball Coalition action at Haboob Field. The game was highlighted by the performance of Asmara pitcher Aaron Gledhill. Juan Ruíz came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 3.2 innings. His record now stands at 5-4. With the win, the Modernists have a record of 42-43.

Asmara used the clutch hitting of Pasquale Gois to snag the win. The shortstop drilled a 3-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Modernists ahead, 6-3. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a crucial one.

"We'll hit the hot tub in good spirits tonight," said Gledhill.
