Kruit Has Hot Hand, Bangs 5 hits
Manuel Kruit exploded for a barrage of base hits today at Tagliero Stadium.

The Khartoum left fielder had a field day in the 15-6 triumph over the Asmara Modernists, finishing 5-for-6.

"My hitting philosophy is simple," he said. "I focus on just seeing the ball and I try to get a good pitch."

Kruit must have focused at least 5 times and apparently got some good pitches, too, leading to one of his best days ever with the bat. Manuel Kruit singled in the 1st, hit a three-run home run off Jay degruchy in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, hit a three-run home run off Noel Lambright in the 5th, flied out in the 7th and hit an RBI double in the 9th.

So far this season Kruit is batting .330 with 10 home runs.
