Modernists Rally For 5-2 Win
|
The Addis Ababa Rifters got a sterling performance from pitcher David Díaz, but the Asmara Modernists still prevailed, 5-2. Díaz threw 5.2 innings of shutout ball. Noel Lambright, now 1-1, was credited with the win. He allowed no runs on no hits, while striking out 1 and walking 0. After today's action, Asmara sits at 25-31; Addis Ababa slips to 23-33.
Asmara took a 4-2 lead on Jason Terry's 10th home run of the season. The grand slam home run, which Terry hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Addis Ababa pitcher Armando Domínguez visibly frustrated.
Terry told a Asmara Today reporter that he was "gratified" with the win.
