The Tauranga Taniwha got a good effort from starter Jeremy Parker in defeating the Auckland Aces BC at Baypark at the Mount. The final score was 3-2. Tauranga reliever Ronald Pittman picked up the win, upping his record to 3-8. Robby Patterson shouldered the loss. The victory makes Tauranga 24-53.

Theo Slipper was the walk-off hero for Tauranga. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Taniwha designated hitter hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

"Getting ahead of the hitters was the key," said Parker.
