Farstriders Stop Hitmen, 2-1
|
Florida Farstriders pitcher Miguel Boroa was in fine form, leading his team past the New Jersey Hitmen, 2-1. Boroa went 6.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 3 hits, walked 3, and struck out 7. His record improves to 14-0. The save went to Robert Haines, his 5th this season.
Florida first baseman Michael Roberts contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fifth. With two down, he hit a fastball into right field for a run-scoring single. It was his 114th hit of the season and put the Farstriders ahead, 2-1.
Roberts said afterward that he was glad to help his team win.
With the victory, the Farstriders record now stands at 73-21.
