The Amsterdam Lions knocked off the Florida Farstriders, 5-2, at Stadium Urbanus. Norberto Escamilla was a big reason Amsterdam won. The first baseman went 3 for 4 with 3 doubles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Richard Neely got the win, improving to 11-4. He pitched 5 innings, giving up 6 hits and 1 run, while striking out 2 and walking 1. At 48-42, Amsterdam is in third place in the Imperial League Trans Atlantic.
António Domínguez had a critical at-bat with one out in the bottom of the sixth for Amsterdam. He came through with a run-scoring single to put Amsterdam in front, 3-1.
"We'll enjoy this win," said Escamilla. "But there's more we hope to accomplish."
