Charleston got a decent performance from pitcher Brant Metcalf, but it wasn't enough to beat the London Underground. London won the Moultrie Field contest, 7-4. Metcalf threw 6.1 innings of 3-hit ball for the losing team. Jorge Ruíz, credited with the win, is now 5-2. He allowed 1 run on 3 hits. With the win, London goes to 58-32, while the Statesmen fall to 36-55.

Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Juan Chavarría, the slick-fielding center fielder ? Chavarría stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put London up, 3-2. For the game, he was 2 for 4, including 1 double and 1 single.

"We were able to get some things going offensively," said Chavarría.
