Settlers Drop Hermits, 4-0

The Rockingham HS Settlers beat the Taitung HS Hermits, 4-0, at Settlers Stadium. Starting pitcher Connor MacDade was a big reason why. He held his opponent in check all game. MacDade went 5 innings to notch the win. He scattered 2 hits, walked 2, and struck out 2. His record improves to 1-2. The Settlers are now 13-20, while the Hermits fall to 21-12.
The Settlers got an important contribution from designated hitter Naozane Nakashima, who in the bottom of the third punched a 2-2 slider into left for a run-scoring triple. It was his 2nd triple of the season and put the Settlers ahead, 2-0.
"Winning the game is always the first objective," MacDade said.
