Hartford Beats New Orleans, 2-1
|
Aaron Goater pitched a gem to lead Hartford to victory over the New Orleans Trendsetters, 2-1. In 6.2 innings, Goater surrendered 4 hits, while striking out 6 and walking 0. He allowed 1 run. The win puts the Harpoon at 37-54, while the Trendsetters drop to 34-57.
Hartford used the timely hitting of Peter Monnington to seize the win. The center fielder stroked a 2-run single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Harpoon on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"We had a good game plan," Goater said, "and we were able to execute it."
