Alleghenies Reel Off Another Win
The West Virginia Alleghenies topped the Kentucky Thoroughbreds, 6-3, in Imperial League action at Watt Powell Field. The standout performance belonged to West Virginia pitcher and Xianggangdao, China, native Cheh Zhang. In 6.2 innings, Zhang surrendered 7 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 1. He allowed 3 runs. The save went to José López, his 21st this season.

West Virginia grabbed control in the bottom of the sixth. With one out and a runner on 3rd, Alejandro Luján delivered a run-scoring single, to make it 4-3 in favor of the Alleghenies.

Zhang said his team "played with determination."
