The Shrine was the site for Baja Cali League action featuring the Takaoka Shiko and Magami Ako.
The Magami Ako faced a tough opponent in Takaoka pitcher Craig Keen, but did just enough to pull out the victory at The Shrine by a final score of 7-2. Keen went 7.1 innings and allowed 1 run. At 36-58, the Ako find themselves in 4th place in the Baja Cali League Japanese.
Runs were few and far between in this one. So, Paulus Boele's at-bat with one out in the top of the eighth was crucial. The Magami shortstop hit a sacrifice fly, to give his team a 2-1 lead.
"I had a good game," said Boele. "Winning makes it even better."
