Gorillas Suffer 4-3 Setback
|
The Gimpo Gorillas got a sterling performance from pitcher Tim Wiltshire, but the Muju Naturalists still prevailed, 4-3. Wiltshire threw 5.1 innings of 3-hit ball. Muju reliever Ray Adams picked up the win to move to 2-0. Walter Griffin suffered the loss. Earning his 6th save for Muju was Goro Takahashi.
Muju used the clutch hitting of Sergio Ramírez to snag the win. The third baseman drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Naturalists ahead, 4-3. It was his lone hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a crucial one.
"We all want to win," said Ramírez. "We all want to do our part."
Muju is third in the Intercontinental Baseball Coalition Hanguk League with a record of 15-10.
