The Mankato West HS Reds got a strong performance from pitcher Juan López, who stymied the Oswego HS offense en route to a win, 1-0, at Ballpark of Oswego. The win gives Mankato West HS a record of 1-1.
It could have been a different outcome for Mankato West HS, had it not been for Rob Gilmore, the 16-year old second baseman . Gilmore contributed a run-scoring double in the top of the sixth inning to put Mankato West HS up, 1-0.
"It feels good to get this one," Gilmore told the Mankato West HS Today.
