The Taipei Wardens did just enough to secure a victory over the Kuwana Steel Dragons, 5-4, at Steelfire Stadium. Nobody did more than pitcher Sen Nishimura. The Wardens saw their record improve to 27-44.

Taipei used the clutch hitting of Tony Torres to capture the win. The right fielder drilled a 2-run double in the top of the seventh inning to give the Wardens the lead, 3-0. For the game, Torres had 2 singles and 1 double in 5 at-bats.

"We'll pop the top on a cold beverage and get back to work tomorrow," Torres said.
