Lakers Top Missionaries, 7-0, Behind Wagner
|
The Racine Lakers went home winners at Laker Stadium, thanks in large part to starter Cliff Wagner. Wagner stifled the Provo Missionaries, enabling Racine to grab the 7-0 win. At 46-49, the Lakers claim third place in the Rocky Mountain League North.
Wagner's performance can only be described as masterful. He notched 10 strikeouts in 8 innings while allowing 1 hit. Wagner, who was drafted in the 2nd round of the 2037 draft, goes to 4-4 on the year with 45 strikeouts.
"We had a nice day," said Racine skipper Noburo Kurihara.
