The home crowd had a good time watching the Glendale Skyelanders and Kyoto Rodan get after it.

The Kyoto Rodan faced a tough opponent in Glendale pitcher Kenny Boone, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Kaiju Coliseum by a final score of 5-1. Boone went 6.1 innings and allowed 3 runs. The winner was Naozane Sakai, who threw 105 pitches over 6.1 innings. The left-hander was charged with 1 run on 10 hits.

Byron Taintey aided the Kyoto cause with a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the bottom of the fourth. For the game, the catcher drove in one run.

"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Taintey told the Kyoto News.

With the win over Glendale, the Rodan improved to 54-33.
