Benedictine Prep HS got a strong outing from Ray Forbes as the Infantrymen defeated the Sarasota HS Sailors, 3-2, at Goochland Ballpark. Alex Thompson picked up the save for Benedictine Prep HS, his 10th of the year. Benedictine Prep HS, at 17-28, occupies last place in the Eastern League Atlantic Conference.

Benedictine Prep HS took a 3-2 lead on Dave Alford's 2nd home run of the season. The solo home run came off Sarasota HS pitcher Steve Emery in the bottom of the seventh.

"We came out on the wrong end of this one," said Sarasota HS skipper Pancho Martínez.
