Fushigi Yugi Celestial Warriors starter Andrés Cruz was on his game, helping his team beat the Taipei Wardens, 3-1. Cruz, now 1-1, was the winner. In 7.1 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 3, walking 0, and allowing 1 run. Pedro Cavazos earned the save for Fushigi Yugi, his 10th of the year.
Fushigi Yugi took a 3-0 lead on Roberto Ramos's 1st home run of the season. The 2-run home run came off Taipei pitcher Marc Price in the bottom of the seventh.
"I just try to put up zeroes," said Cruz, "and let the rest take care of itself."
The Wardens fall to 9-15 and continue their lackluster start in 2039.
