Infantrymen Knock Off Cheetahs, 4-3
|
The Benedictine Prep HS Infantrymen faced a tough opponent in Mobile Christian HS pitcher Shawn Reynolds, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Goochland Ballpark by a final score of 4-3. Reynolds went 5 innings and allowed 2 runs. Alex Thompson earned the save for Benedictine Prep HS, his 9th of the year. Benedictine Prep HS is now 16-25, Mobile Christian HS 21-20.
The Infantrymen got a big at-bat from catcher Albert Haney. For the game, Haney went 2 for 4 with a double, while adding 3 RBI. In the bottom of the first, with the bases loaded, he stroked a bases-clearing double. His 4th double of the season gave Benedictine Prep HS a 3-0 lead.
"There are times you get yourself out and there are times you come through," Haney said. "That's how it goes."
