The Barbe HS Buccaneers eked out a 1-0 win versus the Bishop Moore HS Hornets at Ballpark of Barbe HS. Nobody did more than pitcher Brady Mateo. He was terrific. Mateo went 6 innings to notch the win. He scattered 2 hits, walked 1, and struck out 7. His record improves to 4-0. Dan Harris, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 12th save.

In the bottom of the fourth, António Gonzáles delivered a clutch hit. With two gone and a runner on 3rd, the Barbe HS catcher hit a run-scoring single, putting the Buccaneers in front, 1-0.

After the game, Mateo refused to speak to a reporter for the Barbe HS Chronicle. "You've accused me of throwing teammates under the bus," he said. "So, excuse me if I decline to answer your questions."

Barbe HS now has a record of 21-11 with the win.
