Ligers Take Down Infantrymen, 3-1
|
Blanchard HS turned a good effort from starter Héctor Reyes into a win over the Benedictine Prep HS Infantrymen at Goochland Ballpark. The final score was 3-1. The Ligers raised their record to 12-20.
The Ligers got a big at-bat from designated hitter Andy Carpenter. For the game, Carpenter went 1 for 3 with a triple. In the top of the third, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a run-scoring triple. His 1st triple of the season gave Blanchard HS a 1-0 lead.
"It's not about individual awards," Reyes told a Blanchard HS Daily reporter after the game. "It's about winning championships. That's what we play for."
