Aurora Pins 2-1 Loss on Shisa
|
The Aurora Borealis got a strong performance from pitcher Armando Batista, who stymied the Okinawa offense en route to a win, 2-1, at Shisa Stadium II. In 6.2 innings, Batista surrendered 6 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 2. He allowed 1 run. Héctor Gutiérrez collected save number 18.
Aurora relied on the hitting of Raúl Muñóz to pick up the win. The first baseman clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the Borealis on top, 2-0. For the game, Muñóz had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"You don't always need a lot of runs to win," said Batista. "Sometimes you need just one or two."
The Borealis now own a record of 43-34.
