Eleven Win Another One, 6-2
|
Cold Bay left-hander Bill Manley pitched his team to victory over the Sitka Capitals at Capitals Park. The final score was 6-2. Manley got the win, improving to 5-5. He allowed 4 hits and walked 3 over 7 innings. Manley allowed 1 run. The first-place Eleven lifted their record to 73-31.
Kichibei Sugiura dealt the Capitals a blow in the top of the fourth. Batting with the bases loaded and Cold Bay leading 3-0, Sugiura, who was drafted in the 2nd round of the 2039 draft, hit a full count fastball for a 2-run single.
"Scoring runs is scoring runs," said Cold Bay skipper John Robertson. "It's important to have different ways to do it."
