Arctic Blast Use Late-Game Magic to Beat Grunts, 3-2
|
Behind an impressive start by Tyler Magor, Barrow beat Fairbanks, 3-2. Bob Bates picked up the save, his 15th. The Arctic Blast are now 53-41, while the Grunts fall to 55-39.
Barrow used the clutch hitting of Curt Sharp to snag the win. The designated hitter drilled a 3-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Arctic Blast ahead, 3-2. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a crucial one.
"I just tried to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Sharp.
