Late Magic Gets Cold Bay 1-0 Win
|
The Cold Bay Eleven faced a tough opponent in Skagway pitcher Chris Abbott, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Prospector Park by a final score of 1-0. Abbott went 6 innings and allowed no runs. Getting the save was Hideyori Takano, his 11th. Cold Bay is 60-31 and Skagway, with the loss, 27-64.
Cold Bay used a clutch hit from Jorge Morales to get the win. The center fielder drilled a solo home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Eleven ahead, 1-0. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a doozy.
"This is a great group to be a part of, and it's a big win for us," Morales told the Cold Bay Observer.
