Eric Lewis was a major contributor to the 7-3 Fairbanks win over Sitka. The Grunts first baseman was 2 for 3 with 2 home runs and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. Fairbanks, at 48-37, sits in third place in the Alaskan League Klondike.

There were several reasons the Grunts beat the Capitals, but one factor was Chet Smith. In the bottom of the second, the Fairbanks shortstop came to bat and hit a 2-run double. It staked his team to a 2-1 lead.
