|
Norberto Soto pitched a gem to lead Akutan Island to victory over the Fairbanks Grunts, 3-1. Soto, now 5-4, was the winner. In 6.2 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 5, walking 1, and allowing 1 run. Li-zhu Tai got the save, the 13th for him this season.
In the top of the sixth inning, Insung Yi stood between Akutan Island and the win. The score was 2-1, in favor of the Eagles. With runners on 1st and 3rd, Yi could have turned the game around with a hit. He grounded out, instead.
