Kobayashi Lifts Winds to 10-1 Win
Metros Ballpark was the site for Alaskan League action featuring the Kenai Traders and Taku Winds.

The Taku Winds topped the Kenai Traders, 10-1, with center fielder Maresuke Kobayashi playing a big role. Kobayashi was 2-5 with 2 home runs. He drove in 5 runs and scored twice for the Winds in the win. Taku reliever Roberto Cervantes picked up the win, while Elton Kitchens took the loss for Kenai.

The Winds got an important contribution from right fielder Ken McGee, who in the top of the third knocked a full count cutter into left for a 2-run home run. It was his 12th home run of the season and put the Winds ahead, 3-1.

"We did more than enough to get the win," said McGee.

Taku is now 21-46.
