Knights Stick Hillers with 2-0 Loss
|
West Lauderdale HS picked up a win at Ballpark of West Lauderdale HS, bumping off the Union City HS Hillers, 2-0. Pitcher James Hall was a major reason the Knights emerged victorious. Hall, now 2-0, was the winner. In 6 innings, he gave up 2 hits, while striking out 6, walking 1, and allowing no runs. After today's action, West Lauderdale HS sits at 15-8, while Union City HS falls to 16-7.
The Knights got a big boost from designated hitter Peter Calhoun who had a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the bottom of the fourth inning off Hillers hurler Fred Roberts. It was his 6th RBI of the season and put West Lauderdale HS on top, 1-0.
"This was a good win for us," said Hall. "It's one more step toward our ultimate goal."
