Vail Pops Two Homers in 3-2 Win for Sarasota HS
|
In a close game at Sailors Ballpark, the Sarasota HS Sailors edged the Annapolis HS Jaguars, 3-2. Sarasota HS first baseman Elias Vail stood apart with his performance. He belted 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. Earning his 6th save of the year was Mark Miller. The second-place Sailors improved to 11-8.
Vail had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the sixth. On a first pitch slider from Brent Moore, he banged a solo home run to right, giving the Sailors a 3-2 lead. It was the 7th home run of the year for Vail.
"Sometimes a win comes easy," Vail told the Sarasota HS Bulletin. "And sometimes you have to scratch and claw."
