Prospectors Dump Arctic Blast, 4-2
|
Behind an impressive start by José Flores, Skagway beat Barrow, 4-2. The winning pitcher was Flores, now 4-7. He tossed 6.1 innings of 3-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 7. Bobby Brown earned the save for Skagway, his 9th of the year.
The Prospectors got a lift from first baseman Octávio Bernard, who in the bottom of the third hit a solo home run. His 5th home run of the season put the Prospectors on top, 2-0.
"We'll pop the top on a cold beverage and get back to work tomorrow," Bernard said.
The last-place Prospectors raised their record to 18-43.
