Getting an impressive start from Miguel Boroa, Florida beat West Virginia by the score of 3-2. John Vázquez, credited with the win, is now 4-1. He allowed no runs on 1 hit. Florida is now 111-28, 32 games up in the Imperial League Dixie.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when Florida pinch hitter Melvin James, facing José López, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Farstriders the 3-2 win.
"We'd like to put some distance between ourselves and the rest of the division," said Boroa.
