South Caldwell HS Spartans starter John Miles hurled his team past the Carrollton HS Brawlers, 5-2. South Caldwell HS's record now stands at 8-6, placing them third in the Eastern League Atlantic Conference.

Larry Hensley had a big 2-run home run for the Spartans in the top of the sixth inning. With South Caldwell HS leading 2-0 and a runner on 1st, he got a fastball from Don Lindsey and swatted a home run to left-center. It was his 2nd home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Spartans ahead, 4-0.

Miles called the triumph "a good team win."
