Wildcats Rally For 6-1 Win
|
The Barbe HS Buccaneers got a superb performance from pitcher Brady Mateo, but the Central HS Wildcats still won the game, 6-1. Mateo threw 6.0 innings of 3-hit ball. Central HS occupies third place in the Eastern League Deep South Conference at 6-5.
Central HS used a clutch hit from Shawn Thompson to get the win. The designated hitter drilled a 3-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Wildcats ahead, 4-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a doozy.
Thompson attributed the win to his team's "focus and intensity."
