The Kivalina Bowheads topped the Dawson City Gunslingers, 4-2, in Alaskan League action at The Sanctuary. The game was highlighted by the performance of Kivalina pitcher Richard Chapman. Bi-jun Fu earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1.2 innings. His record is now 1-0. The Bowheads now have a record of 19-28 with the win over Dawson City.

A critical at-bat came in the bottom of the seventh inning when the Bowheads sent 20-year-old right fielder Luis Gómez to the plate with the bases loaded. The youngster shook off the pressure and drew a walk, driving in 1 run, to put Kivalina on top, 4-2.

"It feels good to get this one," Chapman told the Kivalina Daily.
